My "burning crusade"

Best conversation about WoW ever. Talking on the phone with a friend, we had the following exchange.

Me: "...Nah, I'm just tired. I went to WalMart last night and didn't get home until after midnight."

Her: "Why in the world were you there so late."

Me: "Well, sadly, you know, I had to go for The Burning Crusade."

Her: "Oh gawd I hate that. I'm sorry."

Me: "Well, I blame it on my husband. It wasn't so bad, though. I did meet a couple a of great guys who were there for the same reason."

*long pause*

Her: "The same reason? And you talked about it?"

Me: "Well, yeah. For about a hour or more."

Her: "They talked about your burning crusade for over an hour?!

[At this point I am pretty sure we are not talking about the same thing. I pause to try to figure out what she is talking about.]

Me: "Oh No! No! I am talking about the World of Warcraft game: The Burning Crusade. Not my burning crusade. This has nothing to do with Vagisil."

Her: "Thank God! Because that was one hell of a weird conversation!"

This makes me very, very glad that my best friend is one of the ones who got me into WoW in the first place. We can talk for hours about everything WoW, without the only misunderstandings being because I'm kind of a noob yet.

Oh My! That's too funny. I sent the hubby to the game store for our pre-paid copies. He arrived around 10pm and was 3rd in line. He called me around 12:05 to say he was coming home and I replied with "that was quick". He said dryly "yea I only stood in line for two hours" doh.

This is too funny. I used to read your blog until around March of last year or so when my husband got me "Hooked on Warcrack" and I pretty much stopped reading anything on the internet. Ran across you tonight (thanks insomnia!) and holy crap! A fellow mommy-warcrack addict!
Out of the 6 in my household, only 1 doesn't play - the 16 year old girl- because she says she "has a life". My almost 15 yr old daughter and I were at Walmart for the midnight release of BC. Got there at around 9 cause when I called they said they only had like 60 copies. Had no idea there would be Collector's Editions but as I was 4th in line (daughter 5th, brother 6th) we got 3. I Sorry for rambling but it's exciting to find someone else that speaks your language. :)
Anyway, have many characters, my main is a 63 Human Mage on Thunderlord (Ravynn). I'd love to join you all on twisting nether but honestly I'm having way too much fun in The Outlands :) If you're ever on Thunderlord cause your server is down say HI!

Great post. I'm also a WOW mom. I got my son hooked on MMORPGs a few years back but nothing has grabbed hold of him like WOW has. He's already level 70!
